Aureal Vergara Gallery is thrilled to spotlight another major achievement by one of our distinguished artists: José Franco, whose solo exhibition “José Franco. Génesis” is now on view at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires.

The exhibition opened on December 4, 2025, and runs through February 8, 2026, in the museum’s second-floor temporary gallery. Génesis” features a remarkable selection of 25 works, including paintings, drawings, and installations that trace Franco’s creative evolution over nearly four decades. The earliest works date from the 1980s, when he explored animal pelage patterns with a pop aesthetic, while the most recent pieces, from 2025, incorporate electronic elements in installations and acrylic on canvas.

Franco’s work shows the tension between nature and technology, the organic and the artificial. Many pieces—whether canvases, objects, or installations—explore this interplay, combining exuberant imagery with conceptual rigor. Such as the ones shown below:
